If you have not provided Licensing Services with a DBS certificate via TaxiPlus Wolverhampton, you will be requested to submit a DVLA Check Code.

This will be completed at the same time as your DBS, when you apply via TaxiPlus.

LICENCE FOR PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLE MANUAL

If you have a manual DBS certificate, you will be unable to subscribe to the DBS Update Service and will need to provide a new DBS certificate every six months.

You have 30 days from the issue date on your certificate to apply for the Update Service The DBS certificate must be for an enhanced check for the position of ‘Other Workforce - Taxi Licensing’.

You must also subscribe to the DBS Update Service at a cost of £13 per year.

To contact the DBS, please email Private Hire Driver Licence Application (New and Renewals) We recommend applying for a certificate as early as possible and registering for the Update Service, to prevent any delays in future. We are aware that there are delays to the DBS certificate application times. Driver renewals are processing applications within 10 working days and vehicle applications within 15 working days. This is a temporary glitch and only affects new driver applications. Please do not chase your application as this only adds to the problems. We are urgently trying to resolve this issue but the current waiting time is 6 weeks.
